FAITH OVER FEAR: “How-To” part 1

(Notes)

PHYSICALLY:

  • Routine is vital

1 Corinthians 9:27 (ESV) 27  But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.

MENTALLY:

  • RESIST staring at a screen for hours and hours every day

We do it because others’ lives are more interesting than our own.

When you are engaged in your own life you don’t stop to check your phone, or watch a video, or see what’s on TV…

DON’T SPEND YOUR LIFE LOOKING IN THE “WINDOW” OF AN ELECTRONIC SCREEN!

SOCIALLY:

  • It is probably those most dear to you that are getting on your nerves…

What irritates you about them in one context is the same thing you admire about them in another context.

Once the country comes roaring back, you may never have this opportunity and time availability again. Kids will certainly be busier than ever, grow up way too fast, and be gone before you know it. Make the most of this time together.

SPIRITUALLY:

  • Meditate on the Word: Give it a lot of “air time” in your mind. Roll it around in your mind and think about it from many different angles.

Joshua 1:8 (ESV) 8  This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Psalm 1:1-3 (ESV) 1  Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; 2  but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3  He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.

RECALL all you have learned over the years.

Get it from your HEAD to your HEART. That you can truly say, “The LORD is my Shepherd, I shall not want…”
